This exceptional Town Cryer Lantern is a close replica of the ones used by the town cryers throughout history.  They were the ones that brought the news whether it be good news or bad.  It was Paul Revere who road throughout the countryside proclaiming, "the British are coming.." that etched this lantern style in history.
