Raised Garden Beds

The art of gardening is difficult to practice when you live in a townhouse, condo or an apartment. Yes, you can spend a lot of money on fancy planters only to have your plants crammed into a snall place. If you want more room to grow your favorite flowers, vegetables and herbs, raised beds work wonders.
There are some special weight considerations you will need to follow to make sure your balcony or landing can hold the total weight of the bed, soil and plants. You can eliminate some of the weight by using "light" soil, which can be bought at your favorite home improvement store.
Raised beds are also great to add those touches of color anywhere you choose in your yard. They are easily assembled and can be placed on dirt, gravel, concrete or asphalt. It is recommended that you use the deep beds when placing them on solid surfaces for better root development. All of the raised beds can be used on dirt surfaces for many years of enjoyment.
